Pelvic Floor Therapy Incorporating A Whole-Person Perspective
Pelvic floor therapy rehabilitates you—your comfort, function, and participation in meaningful activities.
Pelvic Pain and Muscle Tension
Pelvic pain and muscle tension can significantly impact daily comfort, mobility, and overall wellness. Our occupational therapy approach focuses on identifying the underlying causes of pelvic floor dysfunction through a detailed assessment of posture, movement patterns, and muscular coordination. Treatment may include manual therapy, myofascial release, guided relaxation techniques, and targeted exercises to improve muscle balance and reduce pain. We provide a private, supportive environment where women can safely address their symptoms and work toward restoring comfort, function, and long-term pelvic health.
Urinary Leakage or Urgency
Urinary leakage or urgency can interfere with daily activities and confidence, but effective, evidence-based treatment is available. Our occupational therapy approach focuses on evaluating pelvic floor strength, coordination, bladder habits, posture, and lifestyle factors that contribute to symptoms. Treatment may include pelvic floor muscle retraining, bladder retraining techniques, behavioral strategies, and education to support healthier bladder function. With individualized care and a supportive environment, we help women regain control, reduce symptoms, and improve overall quality of life.
Postpartum Recovery
Postpartum recovery involves significant changes to the pelvic floor, core, and overall body mechanics. Our occupational therapy services provide targeted support for women experiencing pain, weakness, pelvic floor dysfunction, or diastasis recti following childbirth. Through a comprehensive evaluation, we address posture, breathing patterns, muscle coordination, and functional mobility to create a personalized treatment plan. Interventions may include pelvic floor rehabilitation, gentle core strengthening, manual therapy, and education to promote safe movement and daily activity. Our goal is to help women restore strength, reduce discomfort, and return to their routines with confidence and stability.
Pain with Intimacy/prolapse symptoms
Pain during intimacy or symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse can be uncomfortable and emotionally challenging, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. Our therapy approach focuses on understanding what your body is experiencing and helping you regain comfort and confidence. Treatment may include gentle hands-on techniques, pelvic floor exercises, relaxation strategies, and guidance on everyday habits that can reduce pressure and discomfort. We create a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, ask questions, and work toward feeling better in your daily life and intimate relationships.

In-home pelvic floor therapy brings care directly to your environment, allowing treatment to be tailored to the activities, spaces, and routines that matter most. Our Occupational Therapy Program is helping women heal their pelvic floor through mind, body, and function

What happens during your first pelvic-floor evaluation.
A pelvic therapy assessment is designed to help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported every step of the way. We begin with a private conversation about your medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. This may include topics such as bladder and bowel habits, pain levels, postpartum recovery, daily routines, and how pelvic concerns are affecting your life.
Next, we conduct a gentle physical assessment focused on posture, breathing patterns, core strength, movement, and coordination of the pelvic floor. With your consent, this may include an external pelvic exam to better understand how the pelvic floor muscles are functioning. Throughout the process, your comfort, boundaries, and privacy come first—you are in control of what is assessed and how we proceed.
The evaluation concludes with a clear discussion of findings and collaborative goal-setting. You will leave with a personalized plan outlining the next steps that support your pelvic health, restore confidence, and help you return to the activities that matter most in your daily life.
